bare root climbing rose and plant pot

I've ordered a bare root climbing rose that arrived today. I've soaked it ready to plant in a temporary pot before i can get a bigger pot. Is it a bad idea to plant it and then replant it?
Could I leave it soaking for a few days, or will this damage it?
I've subsequently read online that climbing roses don't do so well in a pot and I'm better off planting in the ground......however i'm not digging holes in the garden right now.

Keep it in the shade in some water until you are ready to plant. When I plant climbing roses in pots I always prune half of the strong leader root. Don’t forget to stake it for the first season or it will tend to lean as the leader root grows quicker and stronger.

I just planted a similar rose albeit in ground. It was a few days before i planted it and i treated the roots with Mychorizial Fungi powder i think its called and its took off incredibly well. I can't believe how well its thriving.

I’ve got 2 bare root roses in a bucket of water on the patio. They have been there about 3 weeks while I decide where they go and have lots of new growth on them. They are doing really well! Roses like to get their roots down pretty deeply so a larger pot would be best can get them in the ground but they will transplant from a pot later if you need to.
