Is it too late to plant sweet pea seeds?

I have a giant bag of sweet pea seeds that I never got round to planting due to emergency building work that took over our tiny garden.

Would it be too late to put them in now?

Going to be honest, I won't have time to look after them properly (new baby) if anyone is going to suggest saving them and planting indoors over winter!

I’ve been wondering that too...I planted lots in March, but they grew leggy really quickly. Looking good now as I applied some severe pinching back!
I’ve just put a few in a large pot this eve, and will leave another week or so to plant the rest in open garden, as we in a very cold exposed plot.
I reckon if more seeds get going quickly, there won’t be too much difference between them (if I stopped them getting leggy to begin with!).
Any other views? I notice small sweet pea seedlings still for sale in local garden centres. It’s been such a late year to get going, I reckon all bets are off...

Well I planted mine out up netting two weeks ago and despite a couple of chilly nights there ok.
Sowed a lot of seeds in plug trays two weeks ago (last years saved pods, seeds soaked overnight before I planted) and they are sprouting.
But they're in a greenhouse. I intend to grow these on and then add them to the existing pots outside in a few weeks so they then take over from the current ones as they finish.
Personally, yes you can plant now for a late show, but Ithink you might do better in plug trays on a warm window sill if you don't have a greenhouse.

I planted late last year but whilst they did eventually flower a bit it wasn't a great display.

Mine have been hopeless this year despite planting on time. Leggy and dried out.

I'll pop them in buckets and leave in the kitchen to grow a bit. cheers all!
