Hi all - I am helping the EYFS kids plant fruit & veg, I wanted to grow potatoes with them, I have potato bags and the compost etc but not the seed potatoes now, what variety would you recommend I can get that will give us a pretty fast result (that is before the end of school in July) then what variety can I plant just before we break up that the new one's can harvest when we go back in summer? Potatoes aren't really my thing so just looking for advice

If you get first earlies in now you might get a crop by the end of term. You could try a second cropping variety from the end of July, the main problem with growing anything over the summer in a school is watering - will you have access to the grounds and someone who can go in regularly? I used to run a school garden and this was a bit of a pain.

yes. WhoKnows is right - if you get them in quickly, a first early should be just about ready to harvest June/July.
If you can still find some , then variety Swift is just about the earliest cropping .
After that, I would suggest a salad potato , something like International Kidney ( its the variety that is known commonly as Jersey Royal) for over summer, as it can be left to be harvested later but again - watering is an absolute must if they are in bags
