Lavender hedging

I want to put in a dwarf lavender hedge/edging, about 4 meters long. I understand Hidcote is the variety to get, where's the best place to get it from?

We just got some from van meuwen they were good quality but small plugs, ie will need potting on and looking after. We won't put them in the ground until next year. But much cheaper than larger plants

HidCote is nice. Bear in mind the plants do quadruple in size in the first year so buy small, be patient and allow for spread. The aspect must be very bright - north or east elevation no good or you'll have leggy plants. Prune the soft material only once the flowers are spent around October time. A free draining soil is essential. Watch out for small turquoise beetles.....pick them off and kill them.

I didn’t know that lavender got beetles. Eek, will have to check mine regularly. I planted a few different types last year, and “bunny ear” lavender only in a pot for overwintering in the greenhouse, as it isn’t as hardy.
