Dwarf fruit trees - any recommendations?

Hi,

We have accidentally killed two (the only two) lovely trees in our small London garden during a house extension & miss them and their fruit so much!

Given the tiny garden (did I mention that we're in London) of 6m x6m, & the heavy shade at the back, we are thinking of 1 or 2 dwarf fruit trees, preferably pear.

The previous trees were in what is now a very shady bed due to neighbour's home office, so we thought a large 50cm container could be put in the sunniest area of our patio.

Any recommendations for good suppliers? Local garden centres & nurseries have 1 family tree apiece, which won't do well in a container.

Orange Pippin fruit trees are very good, but you’re right at the end of the planting season so they may not have many trees left.

They have a page with advice on growing fruit trees in pots, which may be helpful: www.orangepippintrees.co.uk/articles/growing-fruit-trees-in-pots-and-containers

Thank you, that's really helpful.

We bought two bare root trees from Keepers Nursery last winter. They were really well developed and healthy on arrival and have already flowered and are doing well this spring after the cold winter.

I have also heard good things about Blackmoor Nurseries.
