Both from my garden but I had to take a photo of a photo.

I've definitely grown them as this was a brand new house x

I can't see the photo?

Knittedfairies · 06/05/2018 16:07

I can’t see a photo either.

Louise5754 · 07/05/2018 14:14

Oh sorry. They're on my other phone. I did attach them not sure what went wrong.

The second photo looks like lupins

mumonashoestring · 07/05/2018 14:52

First one is some type of ornamental grass but the second looks like a broad bean.

Trethew · 07/05/2018 18:41

First is a Carex, and agree second is a broad bean

Louise5754 · 07/05/2018 19:25

I don't remember growing broad beans. I'll take a photo when it's grown a bit.

Thanks everyone.

We've had random stuff pop up all over our garden thanks to the squirrels - anything bean or bulb shaped that they can nab and run off with from other people's gardens and bury elsewhere Grin

Ankhesenamun · 08/05/2018 00:52

I agree with Trethew, the first one looks like Carex oshimensis

Louise5754 · 08/05/2018 10:02

Japanese Sage does ring a bell actually. Thanks.

TERFragetteCity · 08/05/2018 10:06

Japanese sage?

The first one is carex and the second is a broad bean. No sage in those photos.

Ankhesenamun · 08/05/2018 10:18

Japanese sedge is probably what was meant

Louise5754 · 08/05/2018 10:27

@Ankhesenamun that's the one lol.

I'm dyslexic and I just read the first part of the word and assumed it was that lol 😬

WildCherryBlossom · 08/05/2018 10:30

The second one is definitely not a lupin! I agree with others it looks very much like a broad bean but could be something else in the bean / pea family.

Trethew · 08/05/2018 12:11

A quick google of Japanese sage bears no resemblance, or am I missing something?

Trethew · 08/05/2018 12:13

Dohhh ... sedge
