My friend has given me some and I'm debating whether to plant it .

I already have comfrey and either green alkanet or borage which I keep under control .

Do people think that yellow archangel is more invasive than these ?

Or is that like asking how long is a piece of string ?

It’s hugely invasive - and fast. Not hard to dig out, but if you turn your back it will smother your precious plants

Mmmm hugely invasive,fast ...

Oh dear I might have to let it die ,which stupidly ,I hate to do with plants .

Thanks Trethew for response .

In my last garden it was one of the few things to grow under the canopy of a huge oak tree. It was lovely and didn’t wander to any other part of the garden.
I’ve also seen it growing under Leyllandi hedges, where little else would grow.

If this is the same as yellow deadnettle I find it really useful in a dry, otherwise somewhat wasted area - south-facing and with water all sucked up by trees as a beech hedge. It isn’t so invasive due to the lack of water and scorching light. Tends to arrive after the snowdrops (under the trees) have died down and it also dies down at the end of summer. I find it better than the dandelions and tree saplings that sprout up where it is isn’t growing.

I’ve got some in a north-facing bed, in deep shade and it’s not particularly fast-growing. The silver on the leaves lights up a dark spot. (I googled yellow archangel to see what it was; I know it as Lamium galeobdolon)
