I live in an an upper flat and the access to our garden is via a narrow path .
There is a 6'north facing fence on one side and a lower 4' south fencing fence on the other .
Ground elder is encroaching from the 4'fence side ( people who live downstairs are lovely but not gardeners ) and everything ( ivy ,brambles ,mares tail etc on the other ( used to be garden but is now overgrown and has PP for a road and housing ) .
At the moment there is a mixture of grass and weeds at the edges and compacted soil down the middle .
I mainly ignore it but was thinking yesterday as I was filling bags with daisies from my "lawn " that I could transplant them down the north facing side ,backs on to land which is wild and will be dug up .
Was thinking they might smother other weeds ,look pretty and get rid of the straggly grass down the edges which I can only cut with shears .
Would that work /be completely insane ?
Any advice on what to do on other side ?
