Snowdrops in the UK

Hi. I bought some Snowdrops and planted early Summer last year. They didn't grow this winter... I have a feeling the bulbs dried out. Can snowdrops kick into growth the following winter?

Also. I think the window to purchase and plant bulbs is quite short and they dont seem readily available in the shops at the moment. When should i be looking out for Snowdrop bulbs in the shops/garden centres and when to plant?

TIA

Planting snowdrop bulbs is an autumn job really, but wise people on here say the best success is to be had by buying them "in the green" in February, and plantingbthem then, rather than as bulbs.

Now is the perfect time to plant "in the green " they will establish so much better.
I sell mine on eBay as do many others, try searching under the Latin name Galanthus, a quick look shows 100 single snowdrops for about £10
I mainly sell named varieties for about £10 each, some special varieties can sell for £35+ a bulb!

Great thanks for that
