Is the ground too wet and cold to be out there ,you know ,gardening ?

I'm in SE London so I feel it should be ok .But on the other hand it's v wet and claggy .

But I want to be out there

Me too. Got tomorrow off supposedly to plant my potatoes. Ha bloody ha.

Will just drag a ton of wood chip to make way for the greenhouse instead.

We were out planting hedges right before the snow hit (and in a few snow flurries) on Saturday in Lincolnshire!!
It's never too cold with enough layers on, although the sun is shining here today so I'm tempted to get out and start weeding the hedge this afternoon

I'm not worried about me being cold -I'm worried that walking about on wet grass and treading on wet clayey beds will be bad for grass and soil

And I'd like to put some bare root hardy geraniums I've just bought in . Would that be ok do you think ? C an I put them straight into the ground ?.

This cold snap is the ideal time for me to be planning my rhubarb crowns. Pity they're still in a postman's van somewhere (not the nursery's fault, I was just really disorganized!)
