Frogspawn

I made a couple of small wildlife ponds last year which have been a massive success in my garden Smile

I had a single frog last year but I'd like more. Would it be inadvisable to obtain frogspawn from Freecycle etc and introduce it to my ponds this year? I know next to nothing about frogspawn - is it a bad idea to relocate it?

I've always read it's bad as you could introduce a disease to your pond.a neighbor asked me for some last year, as Our pond leaks I agreed - better move it than risk it drying out. She asked because she's made hers more wildlife friendly the year before but had none. Ironically the year she took ours her pond came alive for 2 days as all the frogs in the neighborhood had a breeding frenzy.
It'll take time but they will discover your pond without you risking putting anything bad in

Thanks Weed! I'm impatient but of course you're right, I should let it naturally evolve. It's already developed loads in the time I've had it, I love observing all the tiny pond life!

Besides, my resident frog might not like sharing Grin
