Plants in winter to sell a house?

Hi, novice gardener here! I have a lovely garden which I inherited and it is beautiful in spring/early summer. However bare and a bit bleak this time of the year.

I am selling my house (divorce) and need to get photos done shortly so would appreciate inspiration for some plants, tubs specifically for the front to give curb appeal.
Rear garden is south east facing and with a lawn tidy up will be fine so its mostly the front.
Any ideas? I am thinking pots as not able to do much hard work due to recent health issues.

If I go off to my local garden centre what should I be looking for?

pre-planted daffodils will be easiest in tubs from a garden centre. ivy can also look good at any time of year.

if all you want is instant colour, just wander round & buy whatever is in flower. it could get expensive though!

At this moment, pansies and primulas are in all the garden centres, and would make a good show along with spring bulbs.

Have you got any of your own pictures of your house/garden in bloom that you could put on a memory stick/ email to estate agents for sales detail. I used some of my own pics for house details.

I think heuchera are fantastic this time of year as the colours really stand out, plus they look good all year so it wont look totally staged.
Sometimes a pot either side can look at bit too staged/formal so if you have the room try and get 3 pots of different sizes, perhaps a evergreen tree in one, like red robin photinia, with hecuras and a trailing plant - add a grass of two and one small pot of bulbs. It'll give the idea of being able to update easily all year round and always work with the seasons. It looks good now and gives the hint of spring round the corner - just in time for potential home buyers to move in!

If the front or back door is near the kitchen get a few herbs for easy picking.

Also look at the garden view from inside, which is the best view? Can you add an indoor plant to draw the eye to the best features outside?

For a real zing I would go for polyanthus. Don’t try to spread them out, put two medium sized tubs by the front door. If you dead head they will flower for and long time and they are cheap. Personally I would go,for one colour. Yellow will stand out well in photos.
