My Rhipsalis baccifera

I have a Rhipsalis in the house. I think it's Rhipsalis baccifera.

But it's not thriving at all. It keeps breaking off. I've moved it from its partial shade hanging area in bathroom, to a well lit window. Neither seem to appeal. A big bit broke off today. I don't overwater. It looks thin and straggly.

Any thoughts? Thanks

Actually I think it's Rhipsalis ewaldiana

Rhipsalis species are epiphytic - they usually grow on trees in tropical climates, and like a free draining potting mix (orchid compost is quite good). They like a humid environment, and to be kept just moist. They should also be grown in light shade rather than bright sun. So, your bathroom should have been the ideal spot for it (provided it's not an ice-box!) is it a new plant, or one you've had for a while? They aren't usually difficult to grow, and it might be worth trying to root a stem or two if healthy enough. Quite easy to do - stick the stems into some just-moist compost, and keep in a warm place, and should start to root in a few weeks.

Thank you! I've moved the plant again, final time, and we'll see. On the side of a window but the room is small and not that bright, and only really gets morning sun.

I don't know why the bathroom didn't work out. I bought it about 2 months ago. I've never really had plants before, so this is all new to me.

I'll see if I can root a stem.

I really love this plant so i'd love to see it grow.

Thank you!
