Can anyone help with my sad ficus?

I have a ficus benjamina which I acquired from a friend who moved away several years ago, and it's my only house plant. It's rather unhappy at the moment, but not in the usual way - it's not dropping leaves. It just looks sad. I've only ever given it water, so I was wondering if it needs something more. Some kind of plant food? A change of soil? Does anyone know what would make it perk up a bit? I know nothing about plants so would be grateful for any advice.

Don't know the plant type but will Google. ..all plants do good with a general repotting every few years...slightly bigger pot...some drainage by way of gravel and new soil....then water...your local garden centre will tell you what compost is best..

Thank you! I will get a bigger pot and ask for advice about compost!

They can get a type of scale mite that adheres to the stem. It’s camouflaged and looks like little brown bumps.
I only know because they killed the only one I ever had! Sad

It's common name is Weeping Fig

Mine is much happier with an occasional mist, I’ll probably mist it every day through the winter too as they don’t like low humidity and centrally heated houses are normally very dry. I also put a few drops of baby bio in the water every time I water it too.

As mentioned you’ll probably need to repot it too.

Thanks so much! I will check for scale mite and try some baby bio and misting. And tomorrow I'll go to the garden centre for a bigger pot and some fresh compost. I didn't know about the common name of weeping fig - that's interesting. But it really does look sadder than usual!
