Could it be an alpine, a daisy type? My alpine Phlox looks a bit like that, it flowers in the spring, so no flowers at the moment.

NanTheWiser · 12/09/2017 17:15

It's not alpine phlox - could be one of the daisy family - Argyranthemum?

EyesUnderARock · 12/09/2017 17:18

Does the foliage have a distinctive smell?

RapunzelsSplitEnds · 12/09/2017 17:20

It looks a little like chamomile. Does it have a lovely grassy, apple like smell?

Trethew · 12/09/2017 21:44

Is it Anthemis punctata?

Footle · 12/09/2017 22:25

It's a squiggly thing. Our local shop
has a silvery version for sale - I'll have a look in the morning, and tell you the name.

Footle · 13/09/2017 17:07

Sorry, there wasn't any there. I will look again tomorrow. I'm not sure about it being anthemis.

BeatriceBeaudelaire · 13/09/2017 19:41

No idea but it's beautiful !!

teaandtoast · 13/09/2017 19:45

Looks like chamomile to me.

or Anthemis cupaniana (Sicilian chamomile) which sprawls?

NotAnEMERGENCY · 19/09/2017 15:53

Sorry it's taken me a while to respond to all your comments - they are much appreciated!

I was quite taken by Footle's description: 'It's a squiggly thing.' Grin

Having googled your various suggestions, I do think it is indeed Anthemis punctata and it does seem to sprawl so I imagine it is subspecies cupaniana. The foliage is very soft. I can't tell whether it has a particular smell - my nose isn't very sensitive.

It's hard to find close-up pictures of foliage on Google. On photos of plants, the flowers always seem to cover up the leaves or the leaves are out of focus because the flower is considered more important (makes the photo 'pretty').

Anyway, it seems to be doing well so I look forward to seeing the flowers next year!
