Climber for single trellice panel please.

Please help me choose a climber for my garden.
I have got a single trelice fence panel to create a small screen in the garden, but i don't know what to grow up it.
As the panel is only 5x5 foot, it needs to be quite a small plant in climber terms.

I would like it to be self attaching like clematis if possible(i don't have time to maintain another rose, our rambling rector takes up enough time) It does need to be able to cope with full sun.

I don't care about evergreen as we won't need the screening in winter, or even late autumn.

Honeysuckle or Jasmin?

PassiveAgressiveQueen · 16/06/2017 16:06

Is jasmin hardey? In my mind it is a conservatory plant, but i love the smell of jasmin.

Jasmine is quite hardy and easy to propagate. I have it up walls around the patio. It is lovely to sit outside on a balmy summer evening. I'm in the SE, if that helps.

I have honeysuckle too but of the two I'd pick the jasmine. Another suggestion would be a fragrant repeat-flowering climbing rose.

I have two jasmines in my (London) garden. Both doing well.

Just checked out jasmine, i think i may be too far north in yorkshire.

Passion flower might thrive.

Passion flower or climbing hydrangea. It would need pruning but the hydrangea self climbs.

How about an evergreen jasmine? They look great all year, relatively slow growth so won't take over the place, and they smell lovely

We've got an evergreen Jasmine, it does fine and we arent that far south of ou.
