Make sure that you have all your equipment to hand before you start

Pot not too,large
Sharp secateurs
Sharp knife.
Rooting powder
Good Compost
HorticulturL grit or perlite

Find a green shoot and trace back to a bud. Cut just below the bud. About a thumb with of stem below the bud.
The cutting should be about 25 centimetres and have 2 buds, one at the bottom and one at the top. The simple science of this, is that all the growth hormones are gathered around the bud so the cut will encourage the hormones to flow. Here opinion is divided on whether you should crush the stem below the bud or make small nicks in it. I go for nicks, scrapping away a little of the green outer layer to expose the white underneath.

Leave about 2 or three small leaves around the top bud and then dip the bottom in hormone rooting powder. Place in a pot to the dept of 5 cms.
The bottom bud should be below the surface of the Compost.

Water well allow to drain and place in a cool airy area. Not too hot as your risk drying out baby roots. When you water do so just enough to moisten the soil.
