Not mine, but how great must that have been to watch it all peel off?

Omg that's practically sporn! Love it!

ZeroFuchsGiven · 06/06/2017 14:42

I love it! Proper plant porn!

PetalMePotts · 06/06/2017 14:50

Is it real? My ivy has left marks all over my brickwork.

PetalMePotts · 06/06/2017 14:52

I so wanted to call you Honey, in my post. I googled your name, which I love and want to steal it

That is an amazing picture.

CarbonMint · 06/06/2017 15:19

Wow!

GladAllOver · 06/06/2017 15:24

I call Photoshop

MyNameIsInigoMontoya · 06/06/2017 15:25

Wow! But imagine all the spiders you'd get falling out of that!

WellTidy · 06/06/2017 20:02

Wow! How has it not rooted itself into the bricks and mortar?

wonkylegs · 06/06/2017 20:06

We had some that came off like that, we'd been so worried about the condition of the brickwork underneath, we were astonished when it came off.
It was almost 2 foot thick and I think the bit next to the house was almost dead.
Yes it was full of billions of spiders & dust.

Campaign for a Plorner's Corner?

GladAllOver · 06/06/2017 22:00

Let's hope the spiders found new safer homes.

JeNeSuisPasVotreMiel · 08/06/2017 07:13

I think the fact that the brickwork is new - possibly glazed engineering bricks - has prevented the ivy from getting a proper hold.

I just had to remove a LOT of ivy from a house and garden, I wish it had been like that for me!

We've had similar ivy removal challenges this year. Finally getting to grips with it now, and trying to stay in top of it. It had rooted into and under our low brick wall and into the fence. I wish it had been as easy to remove as in the photo!

ACurlyWurly · 08/06/2017 12:41

My best ivy removal at home was when I put a large saw behind it and scraped downwards, it was like lifting a fried egg from a pan with a spatula. nearly all of the bits left behind just fell off, and that was from old bricks.
My new problem is picking it off of fences, not going so well!

livingthegoodlife · 09/06/2017 21:16

amazing!

i peeled off a huge sheet of ivy from our bay window but it left lots of veins behind. On closer inspection my whole house has scarring which has been painted over. annoying.

wonkylegs · 10/06/2017 17:23

I think the type of bricks can make a huge difference to removal. Ours are really really hard victorian bricks (we had to buy a new drill and bits when we moved in and everything has to be drilled or use substantial nails) and I think the ivy couldn't attach very well.
