Edging a garden path

We have a loooooong curvy path from the house down to the driveway, with grass either side. Last Autumn I spent bloody ages using an edger tool to clear the grass spilling over onto the path. Honestly, it was miserable and my hands were covered in blisters.

Now, as the grass is growing, I can already see the grass spilling back onto the path. The mower can get right to the edge because the path is sunken in lower than the grass, so we almost need something that would block the grass spreading. Does that make sense?

What could we do? Considering the sheer length of the path, I can't think of anything that wouldn't require me selling a kidney to afford it.

I would like to help so I'm posting this

but fear it won't cope with curves ,or look that good ...

Put a border either side of the path and then use the plastic green edging at the edge of the border.

Go for upright plants so you don't have plant flop rather than grass flop.

Or how about strimming the edge of the grass instead of using the edging tool?

EverEdge

I am mad about EverEdge but I'm not sure we could afford 50m of the stuff Sad

The Homebase stuff looks like it could work too, but I'm not sure how long lasting it would be.

I did think about planting a border, but digging, planting and weeding two 50m strips gets me out in a bit of a cold sweat!

Perhaps I need to just admit it will always be a more relaxed pathway...

If by edging tool you mean the half-moon spade type, once you have done that, use long-handled edging SHEARS to cut grass that encroaches over the edge:

We have these, but there are many similar brands.

Maybe inexpensive small bricks could be laid to make an edge, that could be mowed over, as another possibility.
