Phlox subulata ground cover

I was looking at this phlox for covering a slope. Has anyone planted this?

All the pictures I'm looking at on Pinterest seem to be American so I just want to know if it will do well in the UK (north).

My other option was campanula which is easily available in the shops but I've read it's susceptible to slugs.

I'm in the north too and it does really well in my garden.

We have a patch of this and its fine (midlands) we also have campanula and neither seem to get slugged.

Which campanula are you thinking of using? There are many varieties ranging from prostrate to strongly upright.
I have a trailing/creeping one in my garden and it is immune to slugs.

I was thinking of the creeping one - campanula portenschlagiana

I tried campanula last year and slugs and snails totally killed it off (I'm in northwest). I've tried again with it in raised planters using egg shell and other natural deterrents and it's a little better. I love phlox...I've seen a deal on Groupon for it recently. Also try 'you garden' website, they had a deal of about 5 different varieties of phlox for a good price.

Thanks - will check Groupon and you garden
