Herb pots from Sainsos

Can they be successfully repotted and kept alive? I bought mint, coriander, basil and parsley and for once I'd like them to stay alive for longer than 16 minutes. I have a bag of compost in the garage, can I just buy a big pot, move them over and keep them in the sun inside? (Can't have them outside cos the dog will be in his element)

I planted my mint and parsley outside last year and it's still going strong. Basil I tend to keep indoors.

I read the basil will live lots longer if you separate the plants out into separate pots.

Mint and thyme have done well, basil less so.

I think it depends partly on the plantrainee - mint and thyme are perennial, parsley biennial and basil and coriander are annuals. Thyme is woody, and mint and parsley stems are quite tough, but I find basil is a bit weak and fragile-fleshy on the stem front (probably because they force the growth of so many seedlings together.) I think all these factors make a difference - plus the weather after you plant them out. OTOH, you haven't much to lose if they don't take, because they probably wouldn't have lived any longer inside in the pots they were bought in.
