I am a completely novice gardener and we've moved into our "forever" house. It has the nicest garden we've ever had, and lots of lovely plants we don't know the names of, or what to do with! This is mine and my DDs favourite and I'd like to be able to look after it properly. Any help appreciated.

Gosh, how beautiful. I don't know but could it be a Redbud?

Congratulations on your new home, wishing you lots of happiness there.

Tamarisk?

IAmcuriousyellow · 14/05/2017 07:06

Another vote for Tamarisk

You are so lucky to have that in your garden. Lots of Tamarisk in the front gardens round here. I love to walk around and see them.

Another vote for Tamarisk. Tamarisk tetranda is the most common garden variety in the UK

GloriaV · 14/05/2017 07:30

It looks like Tamarisk but they do have tiny flowers and the branches can look feathery. Are there inidvidual flowers(so could be some flowering cherry or similar) or does it have tiny Tamarisk ones.
Are you in the south as I haven't seen many Tamarisk oop north.

MrsBertBibby · 14/05/2017 08:40

Here's my tamarisk.
It pretty much takes care of itself. They are quite thirsty so plant drought tolerant stuff near it.

I love these threads🙂

I didn't know that one though. Every day is a school day 😀

Thank you all! Seems like the ideal plant for us, no pruning and disease free!
