What can I put in balcony pots that is hard to reach?

By which I mean pots that I am not going to bother watering very often.

In the ones I can reach I have oregano and thyme and rosemary.

It looks nicer from the outside to have symmetrical balcony-overhanging pots in a couple of places that are hard to reach - what can I put in them that will survive if I am neglectful?

Small versions of hebes, cranesbill geraniums and lavenders.

What's a hebe?

You can tell I'm a gardening novice :)

Apologies for my title - I originally write "a balcony pot" then realised there are two and now I'm saying "posts that is" Blush

Hebes are great plants, they come in a wide variety of size and small, often variegated leaves ranging from pale silvery green through to deep green tinged with pink. The flowers grow as spikes at the end of the branches. The colours of flowers range from white to deep purple. They are generally evergreen. Very forgiving plants. Have a quick google.

Oh that does sound good, I need a forgiving plant :)

I like trailing nepeta and even a bit of variegated ivy .

You could try sedums, ice plants and rockery plants. This can survive on very little water.

Thanks! Some good suggestions here.

I do like the idea of something traily - does ivy mind being in a pot?

Ivy will grow in a pot but it's roots will soon fill it up . There may be less invasive ,smaller ivies that are more suitable that I don't know about .

Nepeta is probably better .
