I am completely rubbish at trees and I don't know what this one is so I don't know if I need to do anything for it. Any ideas?

I thought to bump this for you Cath
Is it evergreen ? and how big are those berries?
I will hazard a guess at Blackthorn - Prunus Spinosa , but will probably be wrong Grin

Thanks! Yes it's evergreen , berries are about 1cm across. I'll go and look up blackthorn. Trunk is a very nice orange . I inherited 2 big beds stuffed full of all sorts of things and I'm just working through them tidying up and pruning etc as I go. It seems quite happy left to its own devices but it would be nice to know what it is.

Similar thoughts bookbook, blackthorn or possibly elder

It isn't blackthorn or elder as they are deciduous, looks like could be myrtle especially if it has an orange trunk.

Myrtle is a good call , does this help-
When crushed, myrtle leaves exude a soft eucalyptus aroma reminiscent of the Australian gum

I just had a google of myrtles and I'm pretty sure it's Chilean myrtle - thank you!
