What's looking good in your garden at the moment?

I'm looking for some flowery things to fill some midsummer gaps in the border.
I have fuchsias, verbena bonariensis, marigolds, roses already in flower but have blank spaces. On their way are helianthemums and gazanias.

Anything looking particularly marvellous in yours this week?
We're in the west.

At the moment the best things in my garden are the geums and geraniums. Everything else is either in bud, like the roses or over like the tulips, ranunculus etc. Need to plant a few more things that will flower now, actually, so watching with interest.

Aquilegias are looking lovely just now as are the violas and wallflowers and late tulips in containers (north Scotland so always quite behind) no sign of peonies flowering yet or much else for that matter.... my very expensive and much anticipated Sarah Raven dahlias (cafe au lait) are doing absolutely bog all 😔 cheaply dahlias from b&q however have finally started to sprout.... frustrating weather here, windy and dry and random very hot and then cold days.

My three Azeleas, the white one Schneewittchen, the orange Geisha Orange and the pink, Blaauws Pink.
Each was £4 from the ' sad plant' shelf!

Those Azeleas are beautiful not bad if rescued from the 'sad shelf'

The tamarisk is gorgeous too.

I am thrilled this year as my flag iris are going to flower at last, probably tomorrow. The roses are looking fabulous too, although I suspect they won't be so good soon thanks to the rain which will affect the ones in bud. Boo.

My peonies! I am so chuffed - they had a big move last year (house to house) and I'm a novice gardener so thought I'd killed them off...they are better than ever this year

However, I found little peony tree seedlings and dug them up to put in pots as they had seeded in a bad place...and they've not survived - I am gutted.
I've found one more so am leaving it where it is, despite it being smack bang infront of the fixed bench!

My spirea has finally flowered, sedums are growing, marguerites are gorgeous and the lavender I though I'd killed is back and in bloom - I'm loving this gardening m'larkey Smile

Foxgloves have seeded themselves all along a path inconveniently but beautifully, scabious and salvia looking good. I am also pleased with some dirt cheap hanging baskets of pansies which I bought at homebase for a fiver to fill in until my proper hanging baskets get going but which have earned their keep for weeks now.

Geums, alliums, geraniums all looking good. Nigella is about to flower shortly, peonies are just fading. They are lovely but so short-lived. There's a gorgeous climbing red rose starting to flower too. I only planted it last year and it has loads of flowers already. I don't know what's happened to all the clematis in my garden this year but none of it's doing very much. I suspect DH has been pruning at random again.

(I started reading this thread not realising it was started last summer, so was agog at how early some of your flowers were coming out Grin)

Rose Munstead Wood - new last year and gorgeous. Also rose Graham Thomas.
Some of the clematis, geraniums, saxifrage, centranthus, solanum, iris sibirica, nectaroscordum, sambucus, weigela, flax, alliums, hesperis, perennial stocks.

I have a large Dianthus which is covered in buds each year, but only one or two of them open, the rest stay shut & go brown. Water stress at a crucial moment I guess. This is its last chance or out it comes.
