I moved into my house 2 years ago and had a lovely front garden. The previous owner was a landscape Gardener so he was out everyday looking after it. we have been busy decorating inside and having an extension done for dd with SN. So we have really neglected the front garden. Now we want to fix it little by little but have no idea where to start. I have asked a student Gardner to pop in and have a look but he's asked for £23 hr. I want something that's easy to maintain and pretty to look at. I really don't know where to start. I have tried some gardening in the past but failed miserably. Not sure if the pictures are any help but Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I love the garden and the pallet is brilliant. My dh will be definitely doing this for our dd. She will love it. It's got me so excited that I can make this garden work for dd too not just to sit and watch but to get involved and have something fun to do with her siblings. I will take a trip to library tomorrow too.

I would like fragrances colour and even texture. As my dd is going to be involved it all can be good for her sensory work I want to do with her. She does a lot at school and her after school clubs but never at home. But there is so much to choose from I'm stuck. Visited a garden centre today. Just to look around and was overwhelmed and left. I really just don't know where to start from. I will be cutting and pulling weeds and a general tidy to start. But then what? I like all the ideas and I want to try them all. Not sure how to narrow down my ideas and stick to what will work for us. I'm actually such an eclectic and usually love everything people suggest. So I'm always a mess with decisions.

I would start with what might grow well in your garden - early success will spur you on. You can look at library books that help, or there are lots of web sites as well that tell you what grows well in the conditions of your region.
