where on earth do I start? and how to get rid of hogweed?

We moved into a lovely house three months ago and over the past few weeks everything has sprouted and growing like mad!

Where on earth should I start?

And how can I get rid of hogweed and nettles?

I don't mind the garden being a bit wild, we've had hundreds of snowdrops, daffs and bluebells, but it's really overgrown now....

The photos don't actually show how bad it is....and is this a weed? I'm not green fingered at all!!

But in the last photos there are a LOT of weeds: cleavers will scramble over everything and shouldn't be allowed to seed; also I think dock, which will seed if left:

I think there are some varieties of 'dead nettle' and also something similar (that is a bit 'fury' and may have purple flowers, but I can't recall a name):

In due course I think you need to dig, with a strong fork, and get out most of the things in the last two pictures. There is something 'curly' that looks a bit like parsley, but I don't know what it is. And the stinging nettles need to come out; wear gloves, but their roots are quite easy to pull out once the soil is loosened.

Thanks that's really helpful. Was a bit reluctant to start pulling stuff up as we've had some beautiful flowers come through and wasn't sure what a lot of it was / is. But now I know it's weeds!
