We're nearly at that time!

Is anyone lucky enough to be going? I've always wanted to, but it's SO expensive!

What will the highlights be this year, do you think?

What I would really, really like is a glossy magazine with loads of photos and a plan of each garden. Then I could see how each of the 'bits' of the garden fit together as I religiously watch every second of coverage on TV. Smile

Oh Zebra, I'm so glad you say that! I loved Kelly Brook. I'm sure she has some help managing that 5 acres help being an international model and celeb and all, but it really seemed like she had actually put her wellies on and got stuck in, and that she had a genuine love and enthusiasm for her garden. As opposed to merely ordering the peasants who came with the estate to look after it.

The other celeb who sounded really knowledgeable earlier in the week was Sol Campbell, though I slightly got the impression he wasn't as hands-on.

Just watched the round up - that wretched veg man got a silver gilt. Joe Swift did a bit of querying on his dogsbody wife......

I saw abhorrent veg man, and yes I think Jo Swift was judging him too.

I'm glad you liked Kelly Brook too, Shove. She seemed very passionate (about gardening) and well informed, and - nice! Lucky her having an orchard. I really really want one.

I didn't see Sol, but used to love him about 15 years ago, so maybe I should look it up.

I went on Thursday and just loved it, my garden is totally undeveloped so I am in the planning stages and it's given me lots of ideas, and galvanised what I like and don't like. I really liked the modern apothecary garden with its celery, angelica etc, I think I'm quite utilitarian really so would love to have a kitchen garden using some companion planting etc. The weather was fab on Thursday too, it was a lovely day out. I'd definitely like to go again another year. What did anyone else glean from the event?

BTW shove if you are an rhs member and get the early bird members rate day tickets its not that expensive:£47
But if you get the late booking public tickets then the same thing costs more than twice as much: £100
Quite a big difference!

My top tip for next year would be to get a members ticket and spend the money saved on refreshments and breaks ( and seeds etc of course) so as to be able to take the time to see it al!

MIL has been asking whether I want RHS membership for my birthday - I think the answer is now a resounding YES!! Thanks funny!
