Will my mum come back?

Last summer towards the end of the season I bought a tricolour chrysanthemum. It looked lovely in bloom and I read that pruining it back to the woody stems would give it a chance of re-blooming the following year.

Has anyone had any luck? There is certainly no sign of any regrowth (yet) but the woody stems certainly seem healthy, so sign of mold or fungal activity.

It is probably still a bit too early in the year - maybe wait a few more weeks?

Yes I will dodo. It was too lovely to dismiss it completely. I suppose I thought if there was going to be growth something would have happened by now. Anyway, we shall see.

If it has not been too wet where you are, you could try mulching with composted bark or similar. This will help to warm up the soil and encourage growth

Querky I purposely kept it in a sheltered spot. I have my own compost, would that work?

Yes it would. I am in London, very warm and the Mum's usually start to show growth above ground around April.
