Manure : best site for delivery without wormer medicine contamination?

I'm in the process of sorting my veg garden for winter and need a LOT of manure
but am wary of stable manure because of the past problems with wormers.

What experience have others had ?
Are there any reliable sources?

(Hampshire for local suggestions)

I buy cow manure for my allotment, but I am rural, and we have a close farmer, who supplies lots on my site.
Have you thought of asking on a local facebook selling site?
You also have to be careful about weedkiller in it as well.

Surely if it's rotted well, the chemicals will have broken down?

I use horse muck on wood shavings, and get plenty of earth- and slow-worms. It does heat up better than cow muck.

You'd have thought, but even the RHS had problems with residues of wormers a couple of years back

I just put mine on the top as a thick mulch to suppress weeds, and let the worms take it down (which they do). I wonder if the weather breaks it down more than if it was dug in?

Don't know - but one of the prime areas I need to use it is in my polytunnel so the weather is no help!

I think I'll use Freecycle and chat to the stables owners
