Any ideas?

What's wrong with my tomatoes?

Hmmm, I'm not good at these diagnoses! But if there hasn't been a physical cause of damage, then could it be a virus of some kind.

Bumping in the hope that someone who knows what they are doing a bit more can help!

Thanks :)

Looks like it could be late blight. Is it on the leaves as well?

don't think so - will check later on and post leaves photos!

Are the spots pitted? Have you opened one up and is it ok inside under the skin?

It could be bacterial canker but you need to get a picture that focuses on the actual tomato so that you can see more clearly.

Could be blossom end rot or blight. I'm watching mine like a hawk so far, so good Hmm

I will take another set of photos - sorry that wasn't the best!

if it is blight - are they not safe to eat?

Is it Blossom rot? Caused by inconsistent watering? My first batch this year got it after I went away for a week and left someone in charge of watering them Hmm

Hmm, they've been regularly watered (and rained on!) every other day

the soil has never been dried out

Blight tends to start with the leaves I think, caused wet conditions. Perhaps not that if your leaves are ok. Perhaps the canker as pp said. Blight isn't harmful to humans but the conditions caused by the damage can lead to the growth of bacteria. I've seen recipes for canning for toms with blight though.

That doesn't look like blight at all, it looks like tomato canker which is a bacterial thing that I thought didn't happen much in the UK.

OldCrowMedicineShow · 26/08/2015 07:48

Have you had a hail shower? The only similar picture I could find describes this pitting as hail injury.

OldCrowMedicineShow · 26/08/2015 07:49

Sorry, forgot to add link here

00100001 · 26/08/2015 08:06

No hail, in the UK, three counties area

Also, if its canker, are they safe to eat?
