Greenhouse watering advice (holiday related)

I could use some advice about watering in my greenhouse while I'm away from a week on Saturday (hooray, hooray! I'm off to Crete to see all the flowers!).

I'm really worried about my seedlings. Here's my plan: I think I will risk leaving the greenhouse door open, with a homemade screen of enviromesh over the door to keep out pests. I've got two large growbag trays, which I'm going to line with capillary matting and place on the floor. I'll then fill the matting as far as it will go and pop all the plants on top. I plan to make a wick out of a piece of matting and join this to a washing up bowl of water. The whole thing will be ringed with organic slug pellets just in case.

I hope this will last 7 days, but not sure and feeling very anxious. Advice from experienced growers v much appreciated!

Good planning but the best bet is always a green-fingered neighbour to keep an eye on things! The weather in May is so unpredictable. Any teenagers locally who might want to earn a bit of pocket money? Enjoy your holiday!

I'd be tempted to put all the seedlings in a bath on a wet towel. I've done this before and they have all lived. It really depends on where you are and the risk of frost.

You could always add another washing up bowl to the contraption, joined by another length of hose?

I know you asked for advice from experienced peeps, and I know you know I am not one! Grin
