Screening out the neighbours kids

We have new neighbours. The first thing they did on moving in was to uproot all the lovely roses, blossom trees etc the other side of our fence. This fence is also broken at the top, making it much lower in places.
Earlier this evening I was in my garden, getting the washing off the line, when I heard new child next door say " I can see that lady getting her knickers in." Marvellous.
What can I grow up the fence ( west facing) that won't be too bushy as I have an arbour seat next to the gap. I've had a quick google and have come up with trachelospernum. Any other suggestions gratefully received.

Akebia quinata has lovely chocolate scented flowers you could enjoy from your arbour. When established it's quite vigorous and could potentially throttle a small child if they stand still long enough...

I like the sound of that. I have visions of a triffid strangling the little buggers. I will google.

Bay laurel hedge

I've just put 15 down between us and our neighbour.

I'd put in a couple of trees and then some scrambling roses, honeysuckle etc. West facing is a gift - anything will grow there.
