Can you help identify this plant?

Hi, I work at a rescue farm and we are relocating to new land. This plant is growing by a stream in what will be our pig enclosure and one of our helpers believes that it may be poisonous to both animals and humans. Does anyone recognise what it is? We are really quite plant ignorant (other than ragwort!) so any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

It looks like lords and ladies (there are several other common names), lots of info here. It's toxic to humans so I would be very cautious with animals too. It's very common though so maybe animals just know to avoid it? I don't know.

Second vote for lords and ladies/cuckoo pint.

I just said the same on your other thread - arum (aka cuckoo pint) which is poisonous.

Yes, agree - it is also difficult to dig out. There are knobbly white 'bulbs' underneath, and every tiniest one has to come out otherwise it starts off again . But it is a perfectly normal hedgerow plant though, so I wouldn't have thought it would be too serious.

Find more on dedicated plant web sites.

Thanks everyone. It's in what will be our goat enclosure so we'll dig it out rather than take a chance.
