Hi I'm new to gardening so i apologise if these questions seem stupid. Planted some bulbs in pots and watered them straight after, but do i need to keep watering them so they grow? If so, how often? Also, is it ok to keep the pots outside over winter or should i bring them indoors?

Depends what bulbs they are, and are they designed to be indoors?

Hyacinths for Christmas is what some people aim at, starting them outside, then gradually indoors in time for Christmas, But these bulbs are raised specifically to meet that deadline.

If it's ordinary daffodils, crocus, snowdrops etc, that are intended for outside, they can stay out, as they need the cold to give them the conditions they expect.

Do they have suitable compost, and drainage so don't get waterlogged is the main consideration. What did it say on the bulbs packaging?

They are outdoor bulbs - daffodils, snowdrops and alliums. Packaging didn't really say a lot - nothing about when to water them etc

If they are in a place where they will catch the rainfall, you won't need to water them.

If you think the compost could be drying out, then water them.

Mine won't get watered until they start to show shoots in the spring.

I have never watered outdoor bulbs. If they are too wet, they will rot. The ground will have moisture in it, so leave them.

If your spring bulbs are in the ground, then they won't need watering at all.

Bulbs in pots, however, like the OP's, will benefit from regular watering during dry periods. Feeding bulbs in pots will also help create bigger flowers.

Thank you for the advice everyone!
