Help! I need a plant that's like bind weed but isn't a weed

Bind weed is taking over - it's a constant battle. I preferably need a plant that's like bindweed that I can plant so that bind weed doesn't grow?
Does that work?
It's growing from under my house and coming up through bits of concrete around the side!! Is there a thing I can bring down that'll look pretty that'll grow up my house but not become
Unmanageable that'll grow in tiny spaces?
We're trying to be organic so really don't want to use killing substances.
Anyone help?!

Oh dear - you still in trouble!

No, sorry that won't work. Clematis is the nearest thing to what you are aiming for, but the bindweed will ALWAYS win in the end!

The ONLY way, is a strong systemic weed killer, mixed into cheap wallpaper paste, and PAINTED onto leaves with a suitable size of brush. My wife has done large expanses with a soft broom, and smaller areas with a paint brush. That is also a good way for dandelions and brambles.

I do admire your desire to be organic, but I'm afraid in this instance KILLER is the only way. It's also a good way to spot-weed paths or paving. Wear rubber gloves, and keep the girls away.

Oh! Did the girls see the Cbeebies Prom the other week? Quite fun, and will probably be repeated if they didn't. Are they doing Music yet?

What have you planned for the front garden?

[You never answered my questions the other week, but I'll come back sometime.]

Yes still having bind weed problems! Oh bums Grin maybe I'll have to get some sly weed killer and just not let dh see it Smile.

Havn't managed to see the cbeebies prom yet - eldest will love it, thank you!

What was your question the other day?

I was asking about backgrounds for you and DH - but maybe I'm too nosy. And about your Dad and Miles?

(Occasionally I get accused of 'stalking' - but it just helps to have bit of background info.)

Have you tried vinegar ?

(can't vouch for it myself but was reading about it recently)

Just got your messages Smile

Oh. Sad

was going to try it on my paths.

Hi again - you better kill it quickly, as it will start to die off naturally for winter very soon, but will come back next year, more than ever. Has it flowered, with white trumpet shaped flowers; if it has and you didn't remove them, it could seed itself.

Sorry to be so gloomy about it, but it is possibly the worst thing to get rid of. And if it's dug our, 2mm of root left in soil is all it takes to get started again.

Try getting rid of Mare's Tail/Horse Tail - what a pain that is! At least bindweed can be attractive.
