moving lavender

Hi folks, can I move a clump of Hidcote lavender now guys? Or is that a very bad idea?

Move it.
Take cuttings before the move.
See what the others say.

I think you could move it, as long as you're prepared to water it every evening for a good few weeks. And dig it up as a really big lump of earth to avoid cutting roots.

I've got to be honest I'd just plant new ones, it'll be up and running before you know it. Lavender really only lasts 4 years down here before I dig up and start again as it gets huge and woody very quickly (it loves my garden!)

I'd wait until autumn/winter if you can. If you do need to move it now, I would wait until this very hot spell has passed. Too much of a shock to the plant's system IMHO to move it now.

I would wait until winter if at all possible.

I renew my lavender plants every few years. I can't keep them looking nice enough otherwise.
