Will a gerbera grow outside in NW England?

It's in a pot & seems to be thriving - lots of new leaves & one big bud (it had 3 flowers when I bought it, they're long gone now)

Should I keep it as a house plant or could it go outside in a pot for the summer?

Although there are hardy varietys,I doubt yours is,it can prob.go out in the summer but avoid any frosts,it's a house plant really, and will benefit from regular feeding ( tomato feed ) will do.
It's also prone to whitefly,so check for that & spray as & when.

Thanks, Gooner Smile

It's very resilient, I've accidentally let it dry out to the point where it wilts more than once but it bounces right back - still, outside might be a step too far - so I'll keep it in & feed it!

It's in quite a small pot too but seems happy enough, when should I pot it on?

Oh, is whitefly still a risk if I keep it inside?

Yes whitefly is still a risk indoors,as for potting on,well if it's a bit root bound pot it on,just don't go too many sizes up.

I had three of these, a couple of weeks ago I put one in the garden and re-potted the others and left them in the greenhouse. The garden one is dead and the greenhouse ones have new flowers. I'll plant them out in another month I think.
