Its only about 3foot long and 3 foot wide - gets some sun.
I want to buy some plants and have a bloom of colour with an array of pots - matching pots?. Random mix? Which flowers?

It might be easier to plant into the walls if its a brick wall with pointing?
You can put alpine/trailing plants into wall crevices etc and they wont need as much watering as pots would.
Some good info here

Thanks Panacotta, but it's a plain old brick wall. No Central bit. It's the first thing we see when we open the back door so a bloom of
Colour would be lovely.

Geraniums - sounds boring, but years if experience have taught me that geraniums, which thrive on neglect, love being in pots and even if you go away for a fortnight in summer will still be blooming when you get back. So many different colours - I'm quite traditional and prefer red or white - and you can have upright or trailing or a combination of both. It's a personal preference, but I think all one colour makes a better statement.

How are you going to fix the pots to the wall? I can't do a link, but I have a wall covered with geraniums (pelargoniums) and fuchsias in terracotta pots, held in Spanish rings. The pelargoniums cope fine when we go on holiday, the fuchsias fare less well.

I think you need to make the mix not too random - so if you have a random mix of plants, keep the pots similar (not necessarily identical but similar), if the plants are all the same you could have a more random selection of pots. Without a bit of coherence/uniformity, you risk it looking messy.

Agree Pelargoniums are good in pots.
If you can scrape out some of the mortar you can grow this which flowers for most of the summer
