Sweet peas in a north facing front garden?

I have grown lots of sweet pea plants for my back garden - far more than I need. I have a space in my north facing garden that needs filling. It's not a gloomy dark or damp area - just north facing, so no direct sunlight.

Am I wasting my time planting sweetpeas here or has anyone had success growing them in a shady area? Thanks!

I'm in the north east and have sweetpea wigwams in both my south facing and north facing gardens. Never had a problem. In fact the ones in the north facing garden did better last year. Sometimes get a little battered by wind, but they are very resilient!
