Some daft newbie questions from someone who tends to just dig holes, stick plants in and hope for the best.
I'm looking at a mini daffodil collection - but a bit concerned about the "toxic" bit (never realised daffodils were toxic!!) - how toxic is toxic?
Also, was thinking of putting them under a clematis to liven up that flower bed a bit in the spring - would they fare well do you think? Would it be a problem to either them or the clematis? Was also thinking of underneath a columnar cherry tree among the grass (but might not if they're really toxic, as that's in the back garden and more toddler accessible). Clematis gets quite a lot of sun except in early morning. Cherry tree also fairly sunny with some shade.
Also, we have fairly clayish soil - is this going to cause huge problems? Is there a better variety of mini daffodils that would fare better?
Thanks for putting up with all my daft questions
