Vine weevils - please advise...

We have vine weevils on the plants in pots on a balcony - I was unable to get the nematodes in time before they hatched - but would like to treat them as efficiently as I can for the next season.
Do you find the nematodes work and when should I order them and apply them.

also take plants out of pots and check the roots for the little grubs regularly. and stamp on the little B@£$&^%s

Vine weevils can't swim - fact - so once you've cleansed the soil, buy over large trays and pot 'feet'. Fill the trays with water and stand the pots on feet so the plants don't drown. It's a bit of an investment, but will save you replacing EVERYTHING! Generally, nematodes are temp dependent, so post-frost spring is the best time for application, but at this time of year, I'd wash the soil off roots and replace with fresh compost.
