pond pumps and filters

Has anyone any experience and advice to offer about combined pumps and filters, please? Up until now we've used separate items, but the pump has stopped working so we need to replace it and are tempted to go with the all-in-one, particularly as it works out a bit cheaper in the long run.

I have no idea as we are just building our first pond. So I will watch this thread with interest for words of wisdom :-)

We have this and it's fab. It's the Hozelock Easyclear, with built in UV on top of it so you have much cleaner looking water. Neighbours are jealous, it really is good. Plus, it comes with different attachments for the sprinkler and we can change it whenever we want. It also has a second outlet for an extra water feature (DS wants an elephant...) There are different sizes available depending on pond size.
Hope that helps.

Mamapizza, thank you - that is really helpful as we had more-or-less settled on that one from browsing various sites.

You're welcome. Go for it, it's really good.
BTW, we got it at our local aquatics shop for £110 so maybe worth looking round to find the best deal.
