Moving, can I take established plants with me?

I have a few plants that I have that I love and have grown over the last few years.
I have two large climbing Honeysuckles, a Virginia creeper, a very large Fennel and a three year old apple tree. Am I stupid to think I can take them with me?

No, not stupid, but a lot will depend on when you are moving, how soon you'll be able to replant and whether you can dig them up without too much damage to the roots.

.. and whether you notified the buyer that you will be taking them?

Yes, she isn't a keen gardener so have said I'll fill the holes and scatter some grass seeds.

Was thinking to temporarily put into large pots, those trug type. Then plant ASAP the other end.

Wouldn't want to dig them if there was no hope of them surviving.

I think they should survive, but be wary of keeping them in plastic trugs for any amount of time, because (unless you make holes in them) the trugs don't have drainage and if the weather is wet the plants could drown.
