Hedging for border that gets virtually no sun?

I know nothing at all about gardening so really need some advise on this one.

I need to plant some kind of hedging in a garden that is north facing and is nearly all shadowed by the neighbours garage. I want something that grows quite tall and that needs little maitenance.

Is that too big an ask? All advice greatfully receive. :)

I wouldn't plant a hedge infront of your neighbour's garage wall, as he has the right to maintain that wall and have access to it from your garden if he needs it.
Your hedge will need maintaing from his side as well as hedges get deep as well as high.
Is there a fence infront of his garage wall and is it yours or his?

All hedges need lots of maintenance, unless you want a row of different flowering shrubs. Camelias can be grown in tubs/pots, are evergreen and like it shady, and can be moved if neighbour needs to repair his garage wall on your side. Camelias do not need pruning.

But is you are going ahead anyway, osmanthus delaveyi?
