And more humane than the machine gun dh suggested! I'm just preparing a small veg plot and would be gutted if the neighbourhood moggies started scratching things out. Don't want to shell out on one of those ultra sonic scarers if I can help it as cash is thin on the ground at the moment!

apparently citrus peel deters them... also, put prickly stuff like holly inbetween rows of sowings, that puts my cat off digging...water psitol treatment also very effective!

GET YOUR OWN

Lion poo is supposed to do the trick ..... and would also benefit the veggies. A lot of smaller zoos / wildlife parks sell it. Linton Zoo near Cambridge does.

Netting over the top, it tends to put them off and if they get caught, well.....

Jeyes fluid, deleted and sprayed all over your garden, works a treat

I had a vet once tell me that cats won't poo where there is food so to sprinkle some dried cat food!

can anyone give me a good idea (sorry to come crashing onto the thread as such). my neighbour's cat keeps coming into my house through the catflap. i dont mind him, hes very sweet BUT he is spraying everywhere. my hair straighteners, my new toaster, my buggy etc etc. my house stinks and he's costing me a fortune. i cant get a magnetic cat flap as i have 5 cats, the collars would be just too much to keep replacing as they always seem to lose them. i cant very well tell her to get him done (although i have hinted and she doesnt seem to see the need), and i do throw him out when i see him but i cant be on cat watch all the time, he sneaks in!

I was very miffed to discover a local cat had done his busniess in my newly barked front garden. And the bl**dy thing must have walked the whole stretch of 10 houses with large gardens, and fields all around, to get to my garden because there are no cats nearer than that Angry.

In the past I have found rose prunings worked very effectively.
