Protecting fruiting plants and herbs over winter- Advice please

Hi All,

Recently planted redcurrant, blackcurrant, raspberry, blueberry and strawberry plants as well as an olive tree and cherry tree. what do I need to do to protect them from the winter weather?

Can't even remember what all the herbs were that were in my herb container (only rosemary and mint seem to be going strong now) as a lot seem to have died back or not continued to grow after cutting. Is there anything I could/should do to ensure their return?

For the trees, there's not much you can do unless they are small enough to cover in fleece. Is the olive in a pot? Is it near the house?

If the herbs were annuals they won't come back. Rosemary in particular likes good drainage, so make sure the pot is on pot feet/bricks and won't get waterlogged and freeze.

The olive tree was in a pot but I put it into the ground very near the house, it is quite small. The cherry tree is larger (just under 6 ft) and also quite close to the house. How do I 'go about covering them in fleece?
