Bees?!

Not sure if this is the right place to ask?
Pretty sure we have a bees nest under our shed. Do I need to get it removed? (think they're bumble bees) I've read they're harmless if left alone but have very active inquisitive 15 month old twins. Thanks for any advice.

I don't think bumbles have a nest - think they're solitary bees.Confused If it's other sorts of lovely bees could you contact your local bee keeping association and they can take them away?

I had this recently, bumblebees under the house though. Entrance was right beside our back door so had to have some firm not to touch chats with DS then 16-20mo. It was fine though, no stinging incidents and he just ignored them after a while.

We've got this problem under the flat roof of our dormer, we ring a local beekeeper. Next year I'm seriously contemplating buying a hive and see if we can tempt them in there instead as this is the third or fourth year in a row we have this issue.

Bit late to the thread but we had this after we took our shed down. The nest was just in the ground and was really exposed. We were hoping to leave them be but the activity level was rapidly increasing and so was ds's interest in it! Noone beewise local wanted them (risk of infection) so sadly the nest had to go.

I actually really miss them but as ds is very into poking things with sticks it was too risky :(
