I bought two sticks from lidl one will grow into a plum tree the other into an apple tree. How much space should I allow between the newly planted sticks and other plants in the border in my small garden? When they grow will Ibe able to train them against a wall as in victorian kitchen gardens or should I let them grow into little trees?Whats best to let both fruit and flowers grow?

If you espellier them, they don't need as much room but will need extra feeding. The apple tree should espellier quiet well, I don't know about the plum, but they are a hardier tree anyhow.

What type of apple and plum did you get? Different types grow to different sizes, and the expected size of the tree will dictate how much room and depth you need

It completely depends on what you've bought. Is there any information on the packaging or on a label tied to the trees? Depending on what rootstock they are on, apple trees can be either miniature, growing to a couple of metres or giants.

ell they are both 1.99 from lidl and simply say 'domestica' for the name of the variety. How far away from the wall should I plant if I am going to train them? And how far away from roses etc?
