Polycarbonate greenhouse??

Has anyone had one of these? I am starting a new garden this year and want to have a greenhouse, but I have always had a glass one previously. The polycarbonate ones are a lot cheaper which is the main attraction, but do they go yellow/opaque? If anyone could let me know their experience of these, that would be great! Thank you.

I have a polycarbonate greenhouse, I bought it because it was better for insulation and plants didn't get scorched because the panes are quite opaque in comparison to glass. Safety was also another factor because my children as still very small. The garden we now have already has a glass greenhouse and the glazing in broken in places, I hope to replace this gradually with polycarbonate.

We have been on the move for the last 2 years but we brought the greenhouse and it has just been put up after lying around. In total it's about 6 years old. We are waiting to get the pressure washer out to clean it all down now, so I can't honestly tell you whether it has yellowed because it's so mucky.

I can post when done if you like but the weather isn't looking promising for this weekend.

Well we didn't get any snow; infact it was 8C, so we got the pressure washer out and cleaned the greenhouse. It has come up like new except for half the roof panels which are VERY slightly yellow. We suspect this is because in our last garden the greenhouse was sited under some very large trees so leaves and sap all fell down one side. We're actually pleased with the condition it's in.

You are lucky ours dd not survive the serious winds we had last year. It's not even a year old and it is lying in bits inside the frame. We are hoping to do something with it when the weather improves. If you get a lot of wind I would stick to glass.

Deste, how were you're panels secured in place? Our greenhouse came with a plastic strip instead of those metal clips. I think we've only had a panel blow out about 3 times; certainly not blown to bits and it has survived some serious gales.
